Shopping online is a way of life for many of us. From, daily groceries to branded electronics, we prefer surfing online shopping sites. The following video report posted by Google India clearly shows that Indians are now more comfortable shopping online.
The number of purchase related searches made online has increased at the rate of 128% in 2011 to 2012. Whereas, the increase in the year 2010-2011 was only 40%. In terms of products searched, consumer electronics came first, closely followed by apparels & accessories.
According to the report, the top 5 reasons why buyers are flocking to online shopping sites are:
- Fast Delivery
- Cash on delivery
- Discounts
- Cash back guarantee
- Accessibility to brands
This report was put together by combining data from Google Trends and online research conducted by TNS Australia on behalf of Google India in November 2012.
